What a wash does

Green on the south wall, black spots under the eaves, grey streaks under the windows. That's mould, algae and dirt, and it eats into paint the longer it sits. A soft wash kills it at the root, so it doesn't just grow straight back.

Roofs

Concrete tiles and old iron roofs grow lichen and moss, especially under trees. We clean them with low pressure and treat them so the growth dies off, instead of blasting the surface off the tiles.

Gutters

Blocked gutters overflow, stain the walls and can rot the fascia. We scoop them out, flush the downpipes and wash the outside of the gutter so it's white again.

Everything else outside

Decks, fences, paths and driveways. Hard surfaces get the water blaster, timber gets a gentler clean along the grain.

House washing questions

What's the difference between a soft wash and water blasting?

A soft wash uses low pressure and a cleaning solution that kills mould and algae, then a rinse. It's what we use on walls and roofs. Water blasting uses high pressure and is for hard surfaces like concrete, pavers and some decks. High pressure on paint or weatherboards can strip it and push water behind the cladding.

How much does a house wash cost?

It depends on the size of the house, how many storeys and how dirty it is. We quote every job for free. A few photos of each side of the house help us get the price right first time.

Can you do the roof and gutters on the same visit?

Yes, and most people do. It saves a second callout and the walls get a final rinse after the roof and gutters are done.

Do I need to be home?

Usually not. We need access around the house, an outside tap that works and the windows shut. Bring the washing in and move the car if it's parked against the wall.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Auckland, from the North Shore and West Auckland through to South Auckland, and Wellington, Porirua, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt. If you're on the edge, ring and ask.
